How GrassGigs Works
Automatically discovering bluegrass and grassroots music events
Bands Share Their Websites
Bluegrass and grassroots bands register with GrassGigs and provide their official website URL where they post tour dates and show information.
We work directly with bands to ensure we're getting information from official sources.
We Check for Updates Monthly
Once a month, our system visits each band's website to check for new show announcements and tour dates.
This automated process ensures you always see the latest events without bands having to manually update multiple platforms.
AI Extracts Event Details
Using advanced AI technology, we read through each band's website and identify concert information including venue names, locations, dates, and times.
Our AI is trained to understand different website formats and extract accurate event details.
Events Are Verified & Mapped
Each event is verified to prevent duplicates, geocoded to show on our interactive map, and organized by date and location.
We use smart matching to ensure the same event isn't listed multiple times, even if details vary slightly.
You Discover Great Shows
Browse all upcoming bluegrass and grassroots events in one place. Search by band, location, or date to find shows near you.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often are events updated?
We check each band's website once per month for new events. Venues and premium bands can also add events directly, which appear immediately on the site.
How accurate is the event information?
We use advanced AI to extract event details directly from band websites. Venues and premium bands can also add events manually with full control over details. We always recommend confirming details on the band's official website or venue page before attending.
Can venues add events directly?
Yes! Venues can claim their profile and add events directly to GrassGigs. This is perfect for venues that host multiple bands and want to manage their own event calendar. Venues can also submit recurring jams and open mic nights. Learn how to claim and manage your venue.
Can I submit a recurring jam or open mic?
Absolutely! Anyone can submit recurring bluegrass jams, open mics, and regular jam sessions. Create an account, click "Add a Jam" from your dashboard, and provide the jam details including venue, schedule, and recurrence pattern. Jams are reviewed and approved by our team to ensure quality.
What's the difference between band and venue accounts?
Band accounts allow automatic event discovery from your website plus manual event creation (premium). Venue accounts let you claim your venue profile and add events for any band performing at your location.
What if my venue is not listed?
If your venue isn't in our system yet, reach out to support@grassgigs.com and we can add your venue to GrassGigs.
Can I add my band to GrassGigs?
Yes! Click "Login" to register your band. Once approved, we'll automatically discover events from your website each month. Read our step-by-step guide for bands.
What genres are included?
We focus on bluegrass and grassroots music including traditional bluegrass, progressive bluegrass, newgrass, folk, Americana, and related acoustic genres.
Is GrassGigs free?
Yes! GrassGigs is free for music fans to browse events. Bands can join for free with our basic tier, with premium features available for enhanced visibility. Venues can claim their profiles and add events at no cost.
How do you prevent duplicate events?
Our system uses intelligent matching to identify when the same event appears with slight variations (like "The Ryman" vs "Ryman Auditorium"). This ensures each event is only listed once.
What if event details change?
For automatically discovered events, changes will be reflected in our next monthly update cycle. Venues and premium bands can update their manually added events immediately. For the most current information, always check the band's official website or venue page.
